Mission: Lifeline is Expanding

Mission:LifelineOn behalf of the American Heart Association, I’m excited to let you know that Mission: Lifeline® is expanding to now include all patients who suffer from both types of myocardial infarctions – STEMI and NSTE-ACS (NonST-Elevation-Acute Cardiac Syndrome).

Each year, around 780,000 people experience an ACS event. Of these, approximately 70 percent will have NSTE-ACS.  Patients with NSTE-ACS have more comorbidities – both cardiac and non-cardiac – than patients with STEMI.

Hospitals that submit NSTE-ACS data through ACTION Registry®-Get With The Guidelines™ for the first two calendar quarters of 2016 are eligible to have NSTE-ACS data reviewed to receive the inaugural Mission:Lifeline NSTE-ACS Early Adopter Award at Scientific Sessions in 2016.  You can learn more about the new NSTE-ACS measures and the Mission:Lifeline NSTE-ACS Early Adopter Award criteria in the link below.
